I shot the picture at Mt. High on a day where it started to dump snow on the local mountains. We were just getting to the Mountain and I felt I had to take this shot just because it was so classic looking.

The drive home from Mammoth Lakes, CA after a snowboarding trip. Tired and pleasantly exhausted, the drive was filled with amazing scenes of light, others of color, an eight-song folk / blues / traditional CD on repeat remnant of personal and physical journeys, and two friends who think they can sing.

I took this shot in a late afternoon, at -17 degrees Celcius,in a remote village in Romania where an old lady was herding the cattle through the blizzard.

It was near dark when I went out to shoot photos, during (what turned out to be) a very heavy snow storm in Empire, MI. The roads were totally covered and you really couldn’t see anything but white while driving around. I came to an area where the atmosphere felt really great and ordinary objects suddenly seemed very interesting to look at.

This photo was taken at a glacial lagoon in Iceland. These beautiful icebergs break off the glacier and can spend years floating in the lagoon before drifting out to sea. While they float, they are in constant change, forming strange beautiful shapes then breaking and forming new ones. Mother nature is the most amazing artist.

Winter 2010 has been the coldest in 30 years in the UK. The hole of the country had been covered in a blanket of snow, with satellite images showing the UK covered in snow from top to toe. This picture was taken from our balcony on the 9th floor overlooking West London.

This shot was taken just south of Buffalo, NY, along the shores of Lake Erie. At this time of year, the wind gusting off the lake can be brutally cold. I climbed around on the icy buildup for less than five minutes, shooting a variety of angles before I had to retreat. Finding this shot on the card made suffering the wind worthwhile.

While taking part in a one picture per hour, every hour on the hour photography project titled Ulisses Day II, I captured this set of yellow plastic chairs sitting off to the side. I felt the contrasting colors made for a great image with the eye-catching yellow hue over the black background.

While biking across the Golden Gate Bridge, I stopped at the center of the bridge and captured the structure through the thick fog.
