Image by Suzanna Cofer / http://suzuranphotography.com/It was a sweltering hot day, and I kept wandering in and out of the store fronts of Yokohama’s Chinatown, partially out of curiosity, and partly in the hopes of taking solace in the soft breeze of a fan or air conditioner. This little gum ball machine was in front of a small grocery and I was mesmerized by the color. Spending a little time photographing the contents of this machine gave me the energy to move forward in my exploration of the city and on to the long series of train rides back to my Tokyo hostel.
